About ‘‘Facultat de Física, Universitat de Barcelona’
The Faculty of Physics of the University of Barcelona was created in 1974 to managed the courses in physics that had previously been taught by the Faculty of Sciences. It shares a building on Avinguda Diagonal with the Faculty of Chemistry, in the core university area of the city that focuses much of Barcelona's scientific teaching and dissemination infrastructure.
The volume and quality of the Faculty's research output is one of its defining features and has garnered numerous personal and collective awards and distinctions. Physics is the leading UB faculty for scientific production (articles, patents, etc.) and research funding (project subsidies, etc.), making it one of the foremost centres of quality scientific research in Barcelona.
How to reach Facultat de Física, Universitat de Barcelona?
Entrances to the Faculty of Physics are located on Carrer de Martí i Franquès, Avinguda Diagonal and Carrer Pau Gargallo.
By public transport:
- Metro: take line L3 to station Palau Reial — the faculty is just a short walk from there.
- Bus: several lines reach the campus area — for example: 7, 33, 67, 75, H6 among others.
- Tram / Trambaix: you can also use the tram (Trambaix) and get off at Palau Reial
